HR Know your impact

HR know your impact to improve your influence. For years HR has endured arguments that it is unable to add value to the organisation. But since the pandemic almost all leaders have looked to HR to tackle the myriad changes taking place and better support the employee experience.

We cannot let this opportunity pass us by to demonstrate HR’s impact and improve its influence. Judith Germain is HRZone’s Leadership Columnist and wrote an article entitled Know your impact to improve your influence.

Behind the facade – what’s there?

Behind the facade

Behind the facade – what’s there? From time to time I speak to coaches who explain to me that Imposter Syndrome is reaching devastating proportions. This is very perplexing for Maverick Leaders to hear because whilst they are emergent thinkers they favour logical, analytical thinking processes too!

Quite the paradox.

For a Maverick Leader, if the evidence demonstrates that you are doing a good job, with great results, then you would not consider yourself a fraud. That being said Maverick Leaders have high self efficacy, so it would not cross their mind that they can’t do something that they have already committed to do. Find out more by watching this video.

Leadership – a critical skill?

Leadership - critical skill?

Leadership – a critical skill? When it comes to critical skills in the workplace, management teams often overlook that the most critical skill is leadership, and that HR has an important part to play in its development and demonstration.

In this short 7 minute video Judith Germain speaks about how organisations will only survive if they have appropriately skilled individuals in charge and a culture that supports change.

Ethical dilemma of a Maverick

0

Ethical dilemma of a Maverick. Maverick Leaders prefer to lead a life free from ethical dilemmas whilst recognising that this is an almost impossible task! By concentrating on working for the greater good, they are very aware of the ethical dilemmas that might arise and awaken cognitive dissonance.

One of the best ways to ensure that cognitive dissonance – the tension between doing (or thinking) something against your beliefs, is kept to a minimum, is to know who you are and what you believe in. To stand for your values and live by your principles. This is why effective Maverick Leaders are so highly principled and have their integrity as their watch word.

Maverick Leaders need to execute

Effective Maverick Leaders Execute (video). One of the most common faults  of leaders is their inability to execute. Many leaders spend more time strategic planning rather than strategic thinking and considering how they are going to implement their plans.

As part of the Mavericks of Mass Creation Video series, Judith Germain speaks to David Chislett on ‘Effective Maverick Leaders Execute’.

Who are you going to follow?

Who are you going to follow? All real leadership begins with how you lead yourself, and then how you extend this skill set outwards. Here is the beginnings of a key challenge faced by many organisations. They do not allow their employees to find themselves and then express themselves fully. This leads to disengagement and burnout. During these COVID times there is also a realisation that their present company isn’t the company that they want to continue working for. They will leave as soon as they can.

What is Maverick Leadership

Collect Dots (video). The ability to strategise with a clear objective head is often considered the Maverick Leader’s secret weapon and ruler. How to strategise, is an essential skill for Mavericks, even though they don’t like playing by the rules.

Maverick Leaders strategise, innovate and execute to improve their impact and influence on the world and the people around them. This video looks at why you should emulate them.

As part of the Mavericks of Mass Creation Video series, Judith Germain speaks to David Chislett on ‘Maverick Leaders need to strategise’.

Maverick Leaders cover the baseline

Maverick Leaders cover the baseline. Maverick Leaders are often described, inaccurately, as reckless risk takers. However, when Maverick Leaders are covering the baseline they are managing the risks that they face in such a way, that to them, the risk is minimal.

Consider the Maverick Leaders mindset …
